Furniture
Okay so I have an entire upstairs that is not currently lived it.... I'm trying to make it livable before Kenny's 30th.... because let's face it, I'll probably have a bunch of drunk asses looking for a bed to sleep in....
So there is this one room, Jeannette, please take a moment and tell the ladies about my hot pink carpet!!!! they won't believe me, you can be my witness!
Anywho, I have a white daybed with trundle that my mom is giving me.... and I just found a dresser with mirror, and nightstand on craigslist for $75.... I want to refinish them and make them snazzy for the room....
So I need fresh ideas.... Obviously I was going to paint them..... I was thinking white, and then getting some funky color knobs for drawer pulls....
But does anyone have a better idea?

Re: Furniture
I LOVE THE PINK CARPETING!!!!!!!!!
Hmmm... so it's going to be a quest bedroom?
How funkified are you going to go with it?
You could bring out the carpet and definitely paint the furniture white, but decorate the room with funky abstract art in wild colors.

I would love to go funky but I honestly think it would mess up the whole theme of the house.... not that I really have a theme..... but it's an older house so I try to keep things older but still stylish..... talk about impossible!

I think...if you have hot pink carpet you should make that the only color in the room. Then do accents in hot pink...maybe hot pink pillow on the bed...a hot pink lamp. etc.

I could hang pictures of Hollywood Hunks on the wall and the ceiling so they are the last things I see before closing my eyes at night!

Re: Furniture
What style headboard does the bed have? You can work around the red carpet. When I see the curtains, I think of an old victorian style home.
You could get wall decals to liven up the walls.
I'm with Tate on the black and white.
Then do red accents.
A white table with a red lamp... etc

Well it's not red, it's pink.... but I still think the black and white is a good idea! Maybe paint the furniture white, and get antiqued/ distressed black knobs and drawer pulls..... That would be charming.

Wait...is the carpet pink...or red!? It looks pink to me.
Or pink goes really well with brown! You could do brown accents too!

See, it's pink...but it's not like... hot bubblegum pink.
I don't know what accessories you'd find in that color.
I'd decorate a contrasting color then.. hmmm..

P.S. I've never used the word "charming" before today.... but apparently I woke up this morning as Martha Freakin Stewart... so I have felt the need to use it endlessly!!!!
Sorry, I'm having a weird day today!

Re: Furniture
Let's create a second thread.... guess the official color of LaDonna's carpet!!! hahaha
The thing is, it's BEAUTIFUL carpet, new and plush..... then I bought the house, the rest of the carpet is old, stained, and the pits, but this room it's gorgeous... except for the color..... So I'd feel kind of weird yanking up the new carpet and leaving the old stained... you know?
