ah
so pissed at my DH right now. He took 2 classes this summer, summer 1 to be exact. and i kept asking him if they posted his grades and he kept saying no not yet. so i was kinda suspicious because fall classes are about to start so his summer I grades should have been up. well this morning i went on to his account through school and found out he got a D in one class and withdrew from another. like WTF he couldn't tell me this himself...did he think he'd get away with it. and the military is paying for his school so if he withdrew from a class does he have to pay the military that money that they already paid for the class?
oh and i text him and asked him if he was ever going to tell me and he hasnt answered me back yet AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Re: ah
He will have to pay back the money if he dropped out of the classes (my brother was a Marine and any classes he has dropped out of he has had to pay back).

Re: ah
That's because he knows he's BUSTED.
Men will never learn that we're smarter than them.
If he withdrew, I'm not sure. How is the military funding? Is it a per-credit basis or a bredit-bracket basis?
When I got funding through my dad (disabled vets), 0-6 credits was $x, 7-12 was $x, and so on...

Re: ah
uh its just so frustrating when he lies to me about stupid shit like this it makes me wonder what else has he lied to me about ya know? im not sure about the funding all i know is that they paid for his classes 100% unless he fails. if he fails a class then we have to pay that money back to the military. Thank god the community college he is going to considers a D passing or we would be SOL. but im not sure how the whole withdrawing from a class works cause he didnt fail he just withdrew before he failed.

Re: ah
It depends when he withdrew. You'd have to check the college specifically on their guidelines...
I don't think he would be lieing about anything else... He's probably just embarrassed? What class was it?

Re: ah
um i know that the school doesnt count that class on your records if you withdrew from it...its almost like you never took it at all. so i dunno, im just worried that the military is going to count that as a fail and make us pay the money back because its prolly about $500 that we would have to pay. the class he withdrew from was American Literature - Romanticism to Skepticism. and he got a D in Macroeconomic Principles.
i dont think hes lied about anything else but it still pops in my head like if he can lie about something so little like this then what else could he have lied about ya know. ugh idk

He took Macroeconomics but withdrew from AMERICAN LITERATURE?!?!?!
I will burn Economics in hell. I hated that class.
I wonder if you don't have to pay it back and that's why he didn't tell you...how else would you know?

Re: ah
What happens if I drop out of a class or all my classes?
If a student drops a course(s) or withdraws from school the VA will immediately stop paying education benefits for those classes and the student may be billed for the education benefits they have already been paid for that term. Students are strongly encouraged to notify the VA immediately of a withdrawal to minimize overpayments.
The VA will bill a student in this situation unless circumstances beyond the student's control prevented the student from continuing in school or caused the student to reduce credits. These mitigating circumstances are presumed to exist the first time a student drops 6 or less credits. After the first drop a veteran must prove to the VA that mitigating circumstances were the cause of the drop/withdrawal.
Examples of mitigating circumstances include:
Mental or physical illness or injury afflicting the student during the enrollment period.
Illness or death in the student’s immediate family.
Unavoidable change in the student’s conditions of employment.
Unavoidable geographical transfer resulting from the student’s employment.
Immediate family or financial obligations beyond the control of the claimant that require him or her to suspend pursuit of the program of education to obtain employment.
Discontinuance of the course by the school.
Unanticipated active military service, including active duty for training.
Unanticipated difficulties with childcare arrangements the student has made for the period during which he or she is attending classes.
If VA rules that mitigating circumstances do not exist than the student will be charged for any education benefits they received for that academic term (e.g., tuition/fees, living allowance and book stipend).

Re: ah
Also my brother had a $4,000 dollar charge to his credit from the VA and it ruined his credit score because he didn't have 4,000 to pay it back....my mom went down and talked to the lady that works for the VA at the college and it turns out the $4,000 was an accidental charge! He only had to pay back what the class cost ...the $4,000 was a mistype!
(This happened like...last month)
Here is the website I found that information on:

Re: ah
he just called me and hes trying to say that the grades weren't up there last time he checked AND that he never withdrew from a class WTF i know a teacher will not withdraw you from a class unless you ask them to after the deadline and they are nice. now i know there is a deadline on when you can withdraw from classes which means he would have had to withdraw from it a while ago like right after classes started .... ugh why cant he just admit it
