Ham (I used a pork shoulder picnic, it was cheap and was a pretty big hunk of meat)
Apple cider
Onion, chopped
Minced garlic
salt and pepper

Score the meat, and put the garlic, salt, and pepper in the lines. Brown the ham in a skillet on all sides. Take the meat out, and caramelize the onions. Put the meat and onions in a crock pot, put about 1 cup apple cider over all. Cook on low 6-8ish hours, high 4-6.

Easy! Yummy!

I made twice baked potatoes, biscuits, peas, and pumpkin pie to go with it. It was the perfect fall meal.

That big huge chuck of meat I got was like 6 bucks. And there is enough left over to do ham and eggs one night, then scalloped potatoes with ham another.

I grew up with the processed canned hams. I would only eat it with TONS of ketchup.

Now, REAL ham...that's not bad stuff...

Real ham rocks. I'll even take the Corn King crap though. Like the kind they have at the salad bar at buffets. It's all good to me. lol

Do you still use ketchup on everything? My husband grew up like that and still puts ketchup on everything. It annoys the heck out of me.
