Re: so fed up
Kelly your husband is part of the working party right? Usually they tell us "its not mandatory" but if you don't buy a ticket then your put on the working party to help set it up and take it down.
I hate when they have them away from the base....for me that doesn't make it more fun or anything like that its just more of a pain in the butt. Ours is out at Atlantic Beach and the tickets this year were $45 EACH! They better have a open bar or something with that kinda money!

Re: so fed up
no hes not on the working party...hes on the ball committee (or whatever its called) so they are making him go and help set up and sit through the ceremony...i just dont understand why they cant have it around here especially since they arent offering childcare. oh and if i was to go i wouldnt go with DH to help set up i would have to drive myself there so thats another crap load of money we'd have to spend...its just all ridiculous.
ive been to 2 balls since DH has been in the MC and i really could care less if i go to another one at this point i really hate the MC right now and dont want my DH to reenlist in 4 years

I'm basically begging my husband to stay in
I just don't want to deal with the outside world
...insurance goes at about $600 per month, add in car payments, house mortgage, etc. etc. and its freaking expensive.

I am right there with ya! It would be nice to not have to deal with the military pretty much determining our every move but I really don't know how we'd make it in the "real world." It is way too expensive.

yea i know that if he doesnt finish school and neither do i and neither one of us have degrees then we would never be able to afford to get out. They have just screwed us over so many times in the past 5 years that i dont know if i can take a lifetime of this crap

Ben and I have pretty much decided that both of us are definitely getting degrees within the next four years. He will be re-enlisting this January and we just want to have the option of him getting out at the end of this next enlistment.

Re: so fed up
I just want four more years...four years for us to really work on getting a nest egg so that when he does get out we have enough money to make it for a bit if one of us can't find a job (well if HE can't find a job I always have a job at my parents place of business
)

It's at the field house, as always.
That's where both of the balls I attended were held. Like seriously, how hard is it to hold it in a nice banquet hall???

This is what we're facing right now. It's so stressful and I hate thinking about it, let alone deal with it.

Our ball up here is at the Olympic Spa and Resort.
It's 80 bucks a couple though.
We are not going this year.

Yeah I can only imagine Kala. I know we could do it...but I just don't want to deal with it
