What type of fabric would I need to recover it in?

That particular fabric is drapery fabric ...and its $176.99 per bolt...

beats me..... when I did my chairs I just asked them which material was washable ya know??? since we would be eating on them..... but as far as material goes.... I'm honestly not sure! I'm sure you'd want something thicker though!

Yeah thats what I was thinking...If I looked in the upholstery section they only had like 5 to choose from...

I would research discount fabric stores.... we have one in Raleigh..... the exact same material my current couch is made from is there on sale for only $9.99 a yard..... so you could potential save a lot of money!
