She shouldn't be comparing herself to her daughter.
Her daughter may be pretty, but she has to be pretty too.
I tell Wesson all the time how much of a cute, handsome little boy he is. He eats it up. There's nothing wrong with boosting a little self-esteem. And for me? I may have my flaws, but my personality fucking ROCKS!

Yeah, I don't see any problem with telling your child they are pretty/handsome . . .
I do however see a problem with this new "everyone is a winner" policy

whether my child had a deformity or what-not she would still be BEAUTIFUL to me! And I tell my little girl that all day long!!! I think every mother should consider their children beautiful..... and I am sure most do!
