polyhydramnios
I swear it's always something.
When I went to my appointment Tuesday the doctor measured my uterine size and said that I'm measuring ahead of schedule and that it could be two things: 1. Since I have an abnormally short torso (thanks to a genetic screw up, argghhh) that it just makes me appear to measure ahead OR I could be experiencing polyhydramnios and there is too much fluid. If it is the polyhydramnios then it puts me at a greater risk of pre-term labor WHICH I already have because of my hx/history with Christian. I already get monitored more than the norm. and I think I've had 7 ultrasounds so far, two just to check the length of my cervix. So I have to go back in three weeks for an ultrasound to see if there is too much fluid and to check my cervical length. At this point they're thinking I'll go somewhere between 35-38 weeks as long as I'm monitored closely to make sure I don't have a repeat of last time.
I'm just hoping it's due to my body build and even he said that was probably the case since it wasn't noted on the ultrasound three weeks ago. Sometimes too much fluid can be a sign of something wrong but my AFP blood work was fine and nothing out of the ordinary was seen on the anatomy scan so eh.

Yeah that's what I'm thinking. I'm not really worried about it because he didn't seem that concerned and I would think that it would have shown up on the ultrasound a few weeks ago but at least they're doing another one to double check.
At this point though I'm pretty positive he'll come before his due date.

Re: polyhydramnios
Madness. Are you sticking with the group or changing? What would they do if it's too much fluid? Put you on bedrest?
Re: polyhydramnios
I might as well stick since the hospital is the closest one to me and it in itself is 40+ minutes away, plus I'm over half way done at this point. I found out the male doctor that I thought was a douche retired last year so that made me feel better.
If it's too much then I probably will have to go on bed rest or go in every other week. If it starts having an effect on my breathing then they'll do an amniocentesis to drain fluid. Also to check and see if he's having difficulty swallowing some of the fluid aka esophogal problems or a facial cleft.
meh, I still think I'm just short.
