Acting out against winter
So I've decided that I am so anti-winter right now that I'm planning an act of defiance.....
I've scheduled a trip to Little Washington.... my parents have a house there that sits on a peninsula, surrounded on three sides by water, we have a boat dock........
In exactly 2 weeks..... I am planting my booty on that boat dock with a drink in hand, with a little umbrella in it, and I'm going to listen to Jimmy Buffett and pretend that it's summer.
I will be doing this regardless of weather..... even if it's cold and rainy I will be doing this in exactly 2 weeks...... This is my "GO TO HELL WINTER, BRING ON SUMMER" act!!!!!
I have to say, I think it's the best idea I've ever had, and I'm super stoked about it!

That sounds amazing. I hope it doesn't snow.
I'm done with this craptacular weather. I moved AWAY from snow and slushy crap.
I want to be driving with the windows rolled down...blaring Lynyrd Skynyrd, wearing a spaghetti strap t-shirt and flipflops, and having my hair up...
...Not bundled up like an eskimo in my Carhart hoodie.

You know...as I'm sitting here eating my cucumbers... I just want summer here so I can plant some damn veggies!
I bought 2 topsy turvys (the upside down planters that hang...) and I wanna try them out.
No matter what, this cucumber TASTES like it came from the grocery store. NOTHING beats homegrown veggies!

I really want to plant a garden too!!!! I've got to do it in the fence though because my deer will eat them!

So many deer!!!
I'm the crazy garden lady on my patio.
Last year I had two gigantic pots of tomatoes, 2 green pepper plants, and a HUGE cucumber plant...that Gunny fucking destroyed.
I put him on the patio so I could clean a mess he made in the house, turned around (no joke...just 5 minutes), and he had eaten EVERY cucumber and shredded the plant to pieces. I wanted to kill him. This year his ass WILL be grass if it happens again.
I love sweet and sour cucumbers.

Mmmmmm zucchini bread. I never had squash until Wesson's babyfood. I wouldn't know what to do with it. I'd like to do a fruit but I fear little fruit flies and buggies...
Re: Acting out against winter
Fruit flies usually aren't the problem, Jeannette. We have peach trees and the squirrels make off with them before they're even ripe. In all my years here, I've only had two ripe ones from the trees. Oh worms are the problem too.

These would just be in pots though. I can't grow a peach tree on the patio.

I think that is a great idea! I will go get little umbrella's, make something tastey and sit on our deck staring at the snow to show winter too. Now I just really want to listen to Jimmy Buffet.
