What has to be on your Thanksgiving table? It's just me and bebe this year, but I am having:

Turkey
Wild rice stuffing
Rolls
Green bean casserole
Cranberries in a can (you just gotta)
Some kind of pumpkin dessert. Probably this:

That's probably it this year. Sad

How's about you?

We used to do Thanksgiving at my house (originally done by my grandparents)and the whole family would come we had around 50 people (cousins, aunts, uncles, etc). But since us kids moved off and my grandma is in the hospital they have it at a cousins house now.

When we have Thanksgiving at home it usually includes:

Turkey
Ham
Corn
Green Bean Casserole
Green Beans and Bacon
Chili
Peach Cobler
Pumpkin Pie
Chocolate Pie
Pecan Pie
Beer Wieners
Baked Beans
Gravy
Cranberry Sauce
Rolls

Everyone who came brought a dish so...it varied from year to year but those were constants lol Things that people always brought.

Sad I miss home.

For Thanksgiving this year I am making squash casserole and am bringing the corn and cranberry sauce. Sarah is doing all the hard work.

I am hosting Thanksgiving for the first time ever. So far there are 16 on my list (including us), and possibly 7 more at this point. Freakout Yes, Tate, the number keeps getting bigger. I'm FREAKING out and have no idea what to cook.

We got a 23 pound turkey. Do you think that's enough? We're having pernil, too (which is pork). Dh's cousin is making that. But she's so disorganized and indecisive she doesn't know what else she wants to make. So I'm thinking I'll make everything else.

23 lbs. should be fine, as long as you have another meat. I would try to portion out the little stuff between all your guests so you're not stuck making everything. When my parents do Thanksgiving at their house, they usually are in charge of the turkey and mashed potatoes, I usually make my pasta salad, and everyone else brings something.

For us, it's usually:
Turkey
Stuffing
Sweet potato "pie" - just sweet potatoes and marshmallows, I think.
Green bean casserole
My delicious pasta salad
Corn
Cranberry sauce
Mashed potatoes [made with cream cheese!]
Eye mouth tart [it's a 7-layer berry tart that my cousin makes every year. My favorite dessert in the whole world!]
Some weird prune dessert one of my other cousins makes. I don't remember what it's called.
And the obvious assortment of pies.

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. Drool
