Potted Flowers
What kind of flowers would you suggest to a beginner?! I just want to plant 3 pots of flowers, just to start. I want to add some color to the front of the house.
Someone told me impatients are easy to take care of.

Re: Potted Flowers
Petunias are hardy BUT you have to pick off the dead ones to keep them blooming. They get really big and bushy.
Pansies are also pretty hardy and come in various colors. They're pretty good in taking temperature fluctuations.
Impatiens are gorgeous, also...
Marigolds are easy
Verbenas are pretty
Portulacas are colorful
Snapdragons...
If you want something to bush out and spread, Phlox have different colors of purple and just kind of crawl everywhere.

I say Pansies they get big and busy and spread out especially if you Miracle Grow them suckers!
Impatiens are pretty but they are one year only. So they will not grow back again next year.
Tulips are really pretty and I think are pretty easy.

Re: Potted Flowers
I don't know what the hell that yellow flower is Tate. Definitely not a Petunia.
From the pic I see, it looks like a Pansy without the black part.

Re: Potted Flowers
Yeah I know...but it grows more like a petunia...I can't decide what it is I've never seen just plain yellow pansy's...I have no idea its probably a hybrid.
But it made me stop and go in Kmart when I drove past them! They are SO pretty!

Re: Potted Flowers
I love the Geranium pot! And the colors are pretty too. All I ever find around here are the red ones. Ick.
