So my plants have been good to me this year, and I went home last weekend and got lots of fresh (from the garden) produce. I have this week canned:

8 jars of spaghetti sauce
4 jars of salsa
4 jars of pickles
4 jars of dilly green beans
4 jars of apple butter
2 jars of peach butter
2 jars of corn relish
2 jars of dill relish

I can't wait to try it all!

Apple butter is so soooo easy. I just peel and slice the apples, throw them in the crockpot with brown sugar and cinnamon all day, til it get dark brown and thick, then can it. It's so good on biscuits or toast or french toast.

No...YOU should live closer. LMAO

I didn't get jack squat for veggies from my patio garden this year.

I'm debating if it's worth going to the store and just buying and canning. I dunno if that would be cheaper or not.... lol

I could buy a bunch of tomatoes on the verge of turning and make stuff. I just don't know if the cost would outweigh the benefit.

The normal grocery store is not worth it. But like farmers markets or aldi, that's different. I bought like 30 pounds of tomatoes at the Minneapolis famers market last weekend for 10 dollars. I got a dozen ears of corn at the one here for 2 dollars. It just depends on where and how you shop.

Isn't there a farmers market there? Raleigh has to have one.

You should go! Soon they will have all the fall pretties out too. It will be fun. I can't wait to go to the Chicago one. We are planning it on a day when we are already going downtown since it's like a million dollars to park.

Jeannette...have you never had apple butter!?

If not go to Cracker Barrel...they normally have it lol

My favorite jam is Plum though...yum!

You can make jelly out of fruit juice too (just a "for your information" thought lol)
