Say wha? what's the longest...?

What's the longest amount of time you have been on hold? I finally talked to a representative of the health insurance company that I'm cancelling the application for after 11 minutes on hold. Please tell me no one else has been on hold longer than I have.

...like a hour ...but can't remember now who it was with...oh I remember now. I lost my Target card some where between Target and the vehicle so I was calling to cancel that card and reorder another. Needless to say every darn person I talked to was Indian and I couldn't understand ANYTHING they were saying...I was irate and one of those little Indians told me I shouldn't be raising my voice! "IF I RAISE MY VOICE MAYBE YOU WILL UNDERSTAND ME BETTER!"

Needless to say I won! I got a new card mailed to me lol

I learned a trick from my old lab manager. If you've a history if the company and call often to order something, and the person on the other line is being difficult, you go,"Thank you very much, sir/ma'am, have a great day. I'm gonna hang up and then call again. If you happen to get my call, please just transfer me."

It worked for us ordering stuff cause we never want to burn that bridge and lose our 50% discount.

Sadly this doesn't apply to insurance companies.

The longest I've been on hold has been 15 minutes. The longest I have put someone on hold is 30 minutes. But that was waiting for my manager to pick up the call. If customers irritated me I would put them on hold for a minute or 2 to figure out what their reservation was without them yelling at me. They could yell at our hold music all they wanted...
