No Sew Tie Blanket (for dog?)
I want to make a Tie Blanket (the type you take two pieces of fleece and then just tie them together) but I want to put stuffing or some type of foam in the middle....do you think that would work?
(I feel like I am frequenting the crafts section a lot lately )

It sounds alright, but I think his nails might get caught in the fleece.
Re: No Sew Tie Blanket (for dog?)
I found pictures on google last night....so obviously I'm not the first to try it
Well we have a lot of fleece blankets that we use on the couch and such and they have no problem with the fleece blankets...now the afghans I feel like Missy always gets stuck in those

I don't know about stuffing . . . could you maybe get a dog bed and cover the bed that way?
Re: No Sew Tie Blanket (for dog?)
I wasn't thinking about fluff really I was thinking about a pillow or something like that. (trying to not pay $20 for a dog bed that Gunner might/possible/will destroy)

You will almost spend that much though by the time you buy fabric and something to put inside. That fleece fabric can be expensive!

Just get one of those $5 rolled up microfiber blankets from Walmart!
Re: No Sew Tie Blanket (for dog?)
Missy has a blanket that we got from PetSmart for Christmas.
I just HATE that we spent $20.00 on a huge bed for him and now he chewed it apart...I totally knew he would but..GAH!

Re: No Sew Tie Blanket (for dog?)
Did he just tear the seams apart to get to the stuffing? It's pretty easy to fix with a needle and thread. We could totally walk you through it.
Re: No Sew Tie Blanket (for dog?)
No...he ate right through the middle/sides/etc. I've stitched some of them up. I'm tired of stitching them back together so I just safety pin them now
Although I've decided that it will be falling apart before I give him anything else to lay on.

I'd just give him a blanket with no stuffing. If he knows there's stuffing, he's going to find it.
Re: No Sew Tie Blanket (for dog?)
They are more expensive but we got Esther one of the memory foam beds..... there is no way Gunner can chew through one of those!!! They run about $50-60

From PetSmart? I'm sure he could (fabric on the outside right?) We can't buy toys for him anymore. He chews right through them ...same with tennis balls, frisbees, etc. etc. The only thing we buy him now is rawhides and rope toys.

Probably the best idea he had a blanket and there was a hem around the outside and he chewed it off. Dogs. Why do they think demolishing comfortable things is such a good idea!?

Careful with the rope toys. Gunny always chewed it until he ate the rope and then...well, we'd have issues when he'd go potty if you know what I mean.
Check the grocery stores for butcher bones. They'll keep him busy bigtime! We also were able to get the black XL Kong and fill that up with treats. He destroyed all the other ones. I finally just started to buy cheap stuffed animals because no matter what, he'd rip the fluff out so I went cheap.

We won't buy real bones I'm (and John) are way to worried about them splintering and then having to make a trip to the vet. So we stick with the rawhides Once Gunner gets the rope toy pretty ragged we throw it away because he does like to eat it then poo out strings later. You'd think we litter in our yard with as much trash Gunner poops out. Nasty.
I thought about getting a Kong for him yesterday...but didn't know how well they would do as far as destruction

Re: No Sew Tie Blanket (for dog?)
The black XL ones are the only Kongs that would hold up.
With the bones, he can do cow bones and I "think" pig bones.
It's the chicken ones that splinter.
We went through soooooo many rawhides. Dinosaur bones with the big knuckles.

Re: No Sew Tie Blanket (for dog?)
Yeah we don't trust any bones. If the label on them says "use while supervised may splinter" I ain't buying it
We will try out the Kong next though! We go through rawhides like they are going outa style!
