I swear after a week, they smell sour and nasty.

I ringer' them out really good after dishes and put them on top of the sink. I just don't know what to do! lol

Do you wash your dishes with sponges?

Growing up, we had green scrubbies... BUT I will NOT use them on my fancypants Paula Deen pots and pans. ROFL

I use sponges. I make sure I soap them down really good while rinsing them out...but don't wash all the soap off. That helps keep them "fresher" lol

I think you can wash them too! Like in the laundry..... or run them through the dishwasher. Not sure really.... but I've heard that somewhere!

That's a great idea!!!

How often do you replace them? I'm...bad...and usually forget to. It's not until they start to smell that I'm like..."Hmmm....I think I should replace this."

How do you keep sponges fresh? 736228 I think it really helps. I've noticed they tend to last a tad bit longer.

okay i've had this problem as well as my parents, its the dish soap you use. AJAX grapefruit works wonders, never have a smelly sponge while using it. i told my mom about this too cause after a week her sponges would smell and she switched to ajax and her 1 week old sponge that already smelled stopped smelling. and its pretty cheap too, like 1.27 for the large bottle

I did what Kala said about putting them in the dishwasher and it comes out smelling reallly good.

I've used ajax before and my sponges still were stinky lol so I don't know if the soap is that different ...I think its mostly if you clean it out good every time its used.

LMAO funny you say that...because I set a roll of toilet paper on fire in the microwave. It was in a science class in highschool and I though it'd be neat if I warmed it up....needless to say I think toilet paper burning is the stinkiest thing EVER! It smelled up the whole building. LMAO
