Re-upholstering chairs
Ya'll this is surprisingly very easy! I've done this to two different dining sets, twice!
Both times it really changed the whole outlook of the room. It really makes a world of difference!
I highly recommend this to anyone who wants a little change.
My eat-in kitchen area used to have bronze colored cushions.... well my kitchen is mostly deep brown with turquoise accents, so I recovered my chair cushions in a deep turquoise and it really made the whole room look a little richer in color!
My formal dining room, I just changed the white cloth cushions to black suede and it really compliments my black and white tablecloth, and makes the red accents more sharp and stand-outy (is that a word? ).

Awesomeness. We've done a lot of recovering chairs at my parents hotel and I always thinks it makes a big difference!

Oooo...I could do a deep red for my dining room... What do you do...just cut fabric and staple it to the backs?
Hmm...or blue. I have a red table cloth... I kind of have this greekish/italianish theme in the dining room. I bought a $35 picture at Ross and have flowers in a wine bottle...

Yea! I might not do it this month...I'm pretty busy...but that sounds like a decent project for next month. They're cheap chairs...bought the set from Walmart...they just come off with a couple screws...

PERFECT you could do those sooooo easy! Just go pick out some fabric..... they usually tell you at the store how much you need. For 6 dining room chairs, I used 2 yards I think.

I can't buy a couch cover for that couch Just a sec I'll see if I can find a picture...it was my grandparents and she had it recovered about 5 years before she died...I ended up with the couch and I love it...I just hate the flowers.

If you knew how to sew I'm sure you could do it, one cushion at a time.

You're so perrrrrrrty!
We had a couch like that growing up...it was darker...but...it had flowers.
Who didn't have flowers or plaid?

Re: Re-upholstering chairs
The couch is LOW backed and reallllly long (papaw was really tall so they got a couch tall enough for him ) and the cushions would have to be re-fluffed too

I don't know if I should go that dark...maybe the base should be white and the pattern green...

I love it just how it is.... you can brigten it with white throw pillows or a white blanket draped along the back.

Re: Re-upholstering chairs
But...would white pillows be good with Reese?
Nothing stays white in my house...and it's my fault.

How much would a bolt of fabric be?

Re: Re-upholstering chairs
you can scotch guard them once they are made..... helps with stain remover.... plus most pillows are machine washable.
I bought enough fabric for 4 window valences and to cover 6 chairs and I only spent $47..... most fabric is between $7-15 a yard.
