I was hoping i wouldn't have to work if it snowed... but nooooo.
I didn't have my 2 morning classes because the school didn't open until 10 because of the "snow threat."

Jon said the base was crazy with the delays. He was heading back from here! It's stupid. He's checking in because his post deployment leave expired (ON A FRIDAY). After he checks back in, he gets released for libbo for the weekend.

I was wondering... I noticed yesterday that Lejeune BLVD was coated in white stuff that I figured was salt, but couldn't figure out why the hell they would salt the roads before it even started. Does it work like that? I have never seen anywhere pre-salt the roads,

Re: The Jacksonville NC Girls Thread
See it's funny...in Wisconsin, thank you budget cuts, they don't start salting until after it's started and don't start plowing until after the snow has completely stopped.
Like...there could be a foot on the ground and the city won't plow until it's done falling.
I think it's dumb to pre-salt down here. Due to the warm temps, any precipitation beforehand will melt the salt, and when it starts snowing, it'll freeze. At least...I think.

they don't presalt back home either. not that we get loads of snow, but a few inches at a time.

Re: The Jacksonville NC Girls Thread
See in Maine, it snows so much that they start with plowing and they are pretty damn good at staying on top of the plowing all the roads throughout a storm and then once that's mostly clear they will salt (if I remember correctly) because that's when the newly thin layer of snow will turn to ice on the freezing road.
In Colorado they salt when it starts to snow and depending on how much we are supposed to get will determine when they plow. If it's only a couple of inches, they wait until its over, it's more than 3-4 inches though they plow throughout the storm, at least the main streets.

I need another day to finish all my school stuff.
Then another one to relax.
Then I'll be ok to start again.

Re: The Jacksonville NC Girls Thread
I had it this morning in my new travel coffee cup.
The lid leaks so it's going back to the store...
And the Amaretto was yucky.
But back to my main point...the coffee did nothing to wake me up.
Now I'm a sugar-jolted zombie.

Re: The Jacksonville NC Girls Thread
It tastes a cross between bad booze and a nutty flavor.
I want some irish cream. I think I'm going to keep whipped cream and creamer in the fridge at work.
Inner-office Starbucks!

Note to self: don't buy amaretto creamer.
Soooooo, my dryer is broke. Well, it tumbles, but doesn't heat. Oh joy. I have no idea why, looked up a couple of causes and how to fix it... yeah.... I can't freaking do that, but I bet the hubby could, oh wait, he's not here. Freaking A! So it's going to cost $129 to have them come fix it (not including parts) because of course it's out of warranty now. Chris's solution is that I should just hang dry everything until I leave... uh yeah, not happening, but thanks for your input.

Re: The Jacksonville NC Girls Thread
Is it electric or gas?
I'm assuming electric...
They have fuses. Did you check?

Electric, yes. And I looked at the instructions to check the fuses and decided that I hate electricity and can't do even that. I thought it would be something simple, but apparently it is not and there are all these voltage tests to figure out which one is out and if it's broken or just switched or what not. I can't do it.

Ok.
There aren't any buddies that could stop by and take a look?
Or do you have to call someone?
