I think I pissed Chris off
I basically told him that his dog is horrible and I'm getting overwhelmed trying to balance the stupid thing...

Oh well!
Did you toss around the idea of rehoming him with your aunt and uncle?

Well, you can't win 'em all.
I agree with Jeannette, Talk to him about someone else taking care of it.

I've mentioned it before. He's either ignoring me or fell asleep. Or something else I don't want to know about. For the holidays our neighbor's are watching her while we're back in MD. When we get back I am going to ask my Aunt. She's the one that's home the most.

I would. I mean, if it's what you have to do, then you have to do it. It's not like you're doing it out of spite...the dog is just too much to handle!
Re: I think I pissed Chris off
Has the dog been to obedience classes? I know nothing about that, but would it help in the meantime?

He just messaged me. He fell asleep. Told me that he knows its overwhelming But that I do a great job and I can to it. Flattering me will just irritate me. I told him again about my aunt and uncle.

I looked into them. They would only help with her walks and when she's outside. But they're over 100 for a 4 week (i think) class and I would much rather save as much as we can. When we get back from MD I am going to look into houses too. Maybe that will help.Liz wrote:Has the dog been to obedience classes? I know nothing about that, but would it help in the meantime?

Yeaaaa that's still a ways away.
You need a sled so the husky can be your means of transportation. That'll wear him out.

I would not anticipate on them coming home early. If he is gone a year though 11 months is really far away to be dealing with that.

Re: I think I pissed Chris off
I don't. I just found it funny about how fast the rumors started. Maybe a house with a yard (no steps) will help. I fell in love with one but I don't want to move before we go back to MD because thats just too much. Also he took his orders with him so we can't get out of our lease until after r&r. 11 months.. Ugh.. I thought time was supposed to fly

He should still be able to get you a letter allowing you to break the lease if you really want to. He can just mail you a copy or something. It's easy enough.
I want a house so bad.

You should be able to get a copy of his orders. Do you have power of attorney?
What about living on post? I know he said no to that in the past, but do you think maybe that would be better?

Re: I think I pissed Chris off
He was gonna mail them but since he is supposed to get r&r relatively soon I told him to wait and just bring them.
We are on the waitlist for on post. I told him flat out he isn't here, its up to me. We can move again when he gets home. And that way he has a say and is a part of making it a home. I'm just hesitant now because a friend moved on post and her neighbors are horrible! Completely high school. Makes you want to trip them

You don't have to get sucked into the on post drama though. We live on base and I never talk to anybody. It is nice living on base though. It feels like there isn't as much to worry about. And you're right, it is your decision since he is gone. I wish when we were at Lejeune I would have moved on base when my husband deployed. We would have saved so much money, and it would have been so much easier on me.

I agree with Liz. You don't HAVE to be included in the drama. We don't really talk to anyone that lives around us. We say hi if they are outside but other than that we keep our distance and so does everyone else!

Re: I think I pissed Chris off
We're actually saving money here. And the house I loved we would be saving money. I just hope its still available. A long shot, I know, but I still hope. And there's drama here with the neighbors. It sucks. They started to suck me in until I blocked everyone out. Then they stopped.

That's crazy! Everything around here is sooooo expensive. We would have to move to Wisconsin to save money. And then we would spend so much momey on gas and tolls it wouldn't be worth it.

The 3 bedroom we were looking at was 775 a month. Called and got an average on utilities and approx total came to 915. Thats still 100 under our BAH.
