Bullshit ass ship telephones. You'd think with modern day fucking technology, you'd have a phone that wouldn't cut out every 2 minutes costing more money to redial on the stupid fucking calling cards that cost a bazillion dollars.

Sorry. I've never had to deal with ship phones but I hear TERRIBLE things about them If he got a international cell phone would that work better? I don't even know the cost on them!?

I know that the satellite phone that they "found" in Afghanistan was terrible. It took like 5 minutes for what John to say to get to me and 5 minutes for my reply to get back to him It was a lot of wasted time waiting for the delay!

He can't use those on ship I guess. They can only use their ship phones. (probably for security purposes).

It cut out 7 times in 20 minutes. BLAH.

And...he did it....

...He said..."I'm going to come back and Wesson isn't even going to know who I am." I said..."Nah that's not true! He'll know! He'll like you more than me. He's a man's man!" ...as my heart sank.

He said no one is reenlisting. Everyone that said they were going to is now on the "Fuuuuuuck this" list.

And I understand but hate that deployments are already in the brain when they're not even back yet. They're going to workup immediately upon return since they're already behind. I mean...I'm mentally prepared. Sort of. This next one is going to kill me. Now that we have Wesson, we're going to have to revisit all the documents... The will, our agreements, decisions if the "unthinkable" occurs. Sigh.

And they just announced on the radio that they're going to hold a memorial service for the 5 guys that just died in Afghanistan.

Afghanistan is going to be a bitch for us. I'm going to hold my breath the entire time. Agh.

Yeah...Afghanistan is terrible. It was always sleepless nights for me...never a moment of peace until he was back on US soil. It is definitely nerve wrecking.

Its is terrible for them all because they JUST got home then they deployed then they will get back and deploy again. I don't think its fair. I think someone should take their spot. But of course the MC doesn't care what we think. Gr.

They had a bigshot come on and give em a speech. He said it was good because this guy was legit and honest. He wasn't all trying to motivate them with the "GOOD JOB!" He's like..."We took you guys because you were the most prepared from having just got back. Ya, it sucks, and we're trying to get a date to get you home." They have an idea but it sucks because he started to tell me their training schedule. I'm basically a single mom until he gets out next December.

I suppose having 3 deployment separations under my belt in 2 years makes me look like a badass mom though. I'll be optimistic and relish in that one.

I'll cross Afghanistan when it gets here, but I don't like the preparation for it. It's very morbid to discuss where you're gonna be buried. Last deployment, his mom and I FOUGHT about it. (bangs head) That didn't help. Grrr

Yeah John told me he doesn't care where he gets buried...I don't even know where to bury him. He isn't really "close" with his family and I'm not sending him all the way to Texas and my family is split between two cemeteries and I don't know where I want to be buried yet...so I don't know where to bury him either. Its tough. I think Arlington for him would be best if he died over there but ...its just so hard because then hes SO far away. Its just blah to discuss. Anytime its brought up I get a "I don't care Tate"

That's our thing. His mom wants him in Wisconsin but I'm not planning on going there so that's a big fat no. I'd like him nearby...but I'm torn. If something happened, I probably wouldn't even stay here. I'd move just because.

I'd love Arlington. It's centrally located, and...well...it's Arlington.

Jon doesn't care either. He just says..."Well, I'd like to get buried wherever you want to. But...make sure I'm face down so the world can kiss my ass."

Yeah Arlington is a nice place especially for those killed over seas. So peaceful and its so well kept.

I only insured 1 box all of last deployment. It had his boots in it.

Well in a hundred years when they are deep sea diving for treasure they will find two boxes with pencils and paper and muscle magazines, flashlights, microfiber towel and sunflower seeds oh and of course undies!!! lol What a treasue! Actually I'm bumbed the first box was all of DH's stuff he left behind Dh said it was worth like 200 dollars I dunno I just threw the bag in the box~
