Lol, yes. I am VERY frustrated right now. Some of it's my fault and some of it was out of my control. we are having a HELL of a time getting enrolled in DEERS.... We got married on the 6th and moved right after so we weren't able to get copies of our marriage cert. (or the original.) then, so we requested he original and copies of the marriage cert. be forwarded to our new address, well 2 ish weeks later they still hadn't arrived... Efffffing A. And when I called the office? They said "oh OOPS. looks like we forgot" FORGOT?! You effers, it's not like I need it for shits n giggles!!! Ohk, so she got them mailed to us and they arrived yesterday afternoon, YIPPPPEEE,

except then I got to looking at what you needed for DEERS and that's where the OOOOPS on me comes in, you need your birth certificate too. Which I so awesomely don't have, my parents keep it in their files... back in KY.... Awesome. Even more waiting. And here's the kicker... Once the birth certificate gets here, I might have to do even more waiting! The thing with my birth certificate is that I was adopted when I was 6 by my father, so I had a last name change and my birth certificate doesn't reflect that. So I'm going to be going in there with my original birth certificate which says Jessica H. and a DL and SSC that says Jessica M. (my maiden name, not married name) My dad said the only thing he had to reflect my legal name change was the adoption papers... so I'm just HOPING that it's not going to matter and that we'll just be able to push the difference on the documents since I am, in fact, the same person... Ugh. why must this all be so difficult...

If your parents are going to send a copy of your birth certificate I would have them go a head and send a copy of the adoption papers too..just in case so you don't have to do more waiting. I don't think you'll have a problem with it. Why not just have your DH do it...that way he doesn't have to have all that paper work?

Yeah I would just send your husband and they shouldn't need any paper work. Its when the dependent goes in they want all the extra paper work.

...I wish they'd do that with us! Hubby was with me when we went and she just started rambling off everything we needed.. eck. My dad already sent the BC this morning, and then called and told me he hoped I didn't need the adoption papers because it was in my o ld last name. Ugh, he'll have to send another package tomorrow.

Hmmmm, I think they'd still ask for all the paperwork. The people at this office are like sticklers or something. Very not friendly. lol. But I might have him try tomorrow

Really I'm surprised they wanted your information even though he was there. Maybe send him in on his own and see what they say. It was probably just because you were there
