Grad question Empty Grad question

Is it normal to get a gift for AIT graduation? I figured I would make sure we had enough for Chris to get at least one of his tattoos. Is that good? Should I get him something cheesy and small?

I didn't get John anything but after bootcamp they don't have a "graduation" after that. They just get done with their MOS (equivalent to Army's AIT) and go to their duty station.
